I am new to the Nashville area and decided to visit Dr. Newman on referral by one of his dental assistants, Kellye, who is a friend of mine. I was very impressed with the facilities when I walked in, and even being a new patient I was in a chair getting my teeth cleaned within 5 minutes. Dr. Newman came in after my cleaning and x-rays and was very courteous. He even spent a few moments to make small talk about football. Overall I was very happy with my decision to come to Dr. Newman for my check-up.

I have been using this office since the 80's and Dr. Newman since he arrived in 2003. When i needed major work done on my upper front teeth he explained all the possibilities that could correct my problems. He started with chipped, brittle, and crooked teeth and transformed them into a strong, attractive, natural looking smile that I have been very pleased with for many years. He has also over the years done what has been needed to keep all my teeth healthy, always explaining what needed to be done, why it needed to be done and what my options where to get the results we where trying achieve. All this has been done efficiently and with a minimum of discomfort.

Nobody much enjoys visiting the dentist. When you need one in Nashville, this is THE place to go. I have been a patient of this office since 1979; a very satisfied customer. The office staff are courteous, helpful and cheerful. The dental hygienist (Valerie) is super. Drs. Newman and Fossick are professional, caring, willing to explain any procedure and the expected results. I could not expect more from a dental group and I give them my highest rating. I guess 31 years as a "customer" says it all.

Dr. Newman became my son's dentist right at a year ago, and became mine shortly after. He quickly repaired a problem that had been with me for over six years. Dr. Newman has been my dentist for several years. He took over from Dr. Fossick, and I had my doubts about whether anyone could fill the capable shoes of Dr. Fossick, but Dr. Newman has been great. I became a patient of Dr. Newman's after his partner, Dr. Fossick retired. (and to Dr. Fossick from his prior partner) Over the years I have had my teeth cleaned by just about all of the hygienists, they've all been great. I've had numerous crowns to replace the LARGE fillings used in the 60's. Expensive but necessary. I still have some remaining but Dr. Newman is conservatively 'watching' them. My wallet is grateful! I have had needed crowns and bridgework done. I felt comfortable enough to actually have cosmetic veneers done this year. I had an extreme phobia of going to the dentist until my teeth got so bad that I had to go to the dentist. One year ago, Dr. Newman repaired one of my rear molars that had cracked and had become very painful. The tooth was difficult to reach, but he did a masterful job of working on it and fitting it with a crown. He also went out of his way to get me in quickly and get the work done. The tooth still was sensitive after he had fitted it with the temporary crown, but he was confident that it would be OK once he had put on the permanent crown, and it was. Since then, I have been to his office twice to have my teeth cleaned, and the tooth cleanings and check ups have been very smooth and professional. Dr. Newman was highly recommended by my next door neighbor who is an oral surgeon and who taught some of his classes in dental school. Finally, Dr. Newman played basketball at UT, and I enjoy getting his insights regarding UT sports!

My front teeth had become dangerously thin, to the point that the color of a gloved finger could be seen through my teeth. They had also become very dark and were very easy to chip. Dr. Newman explained that the teeth were in danger of breaking and if the teeth were to break, I would encounter a host of other problems. He stated they needed to be protected by either bonding or front teeth crowns and explained the pros and cons of each procedure. I was aware that my teeth were no longer "pretty" which made me smile less often. Between that and the fear of them breaking, I decided to have crowns placed on all 4. Dr. Newman and his staff worked efficiently, effectively and pain free. I received my new crowns yesterday. When I arrived home and smiled at my husband, his immediate reaction was "how pretty". I had a similiar reaction from my 18 yr old daughter. I thank Dr. Newman and his staff for boosting my self-image and decreasing my risk of having broken front teeth. Thanks a lot

I recently developed a very abnormal toothache. I say abnormal because in 34 years, 12 + with Dr. Newman, I have never had any major dental work, pain, etc. I realize I am lucky! I called Dr. Newman on a Saturday to explain the pain and he asked if I could meet him at his office that afternoon. I told him that wasn't necessary and I would wait until Monday AM to come to office.
When I arrived Monday AM prior to 8:00AM there were already patients in the waiting room. Aside from their scheduled appointments it appeared there were a few others who had dental issues over the weekend. Being a professional myself I understand the importance of a schedule and what it's like to have drop in or last minute appointments. Part of me felt bad about asking to be worked in because I was in pain but not as much as the 2 other drop in. I offered to receptionist that I could come back and she politely said that it was no problem and Dr. Newman would be right with me. There were 3 existing appointments and 2 dental emergencies first thing on a Monday morning. Dr. Newman and his staff never missed a beat took it all in stride!

After experiencing extremely painful sessions with a Military dentist during my enlistment in the Air Force, I had been apprehensive about visiting any dentist. My experience with Dr. Newman and his entire staff was phenomenal. I came to Dr. Newman after having him referred to me by several people. I had bonding work on my front two teeth from a softball accident that badly needed to be replaced. I had been hesitant to visit the dentist for cosmetic work since I don't know how it would affect the way my mouth looked. Dr. Newman and his staff took every measure possible to make me feel comfortable and at ease. They walked me through the entire process and continually checked with me to ensure I was comfortable. My husband, children (now 19 and 10) and I have been seeing Dr. Newman since he began practicing 8 years ago. My children LOVE him. Between us we have had routine procedures as well as cosmetic whitening and recently crowns for me. I was petrified of the procedure for crowns, but he and his staff made me completely at ease. I ended up at Dr. Newman's office because my own dentist was out of town, and I had broken a front tooth. After being treated by Dr. Newman, I realized I had found my new dentist. i'd been going to my other dentist for 25 years, but he was close to retirement, and I appreciated the creative and professional way in which Dr. Newman approached the whole subject of cosmetic dentistry. Two thumbs up!
